Shoreham and Hove will witness two of its businesses, giving out free sunscreen to people that pass by. This decision was inspired by the personal experience of a mother.
The idea was born to Lucy Harvey, a mother of three. She is employed at Caring Lady Funeral Directors, Shoreham branch. Harvey believes in the cause enough to get her colleagues in Hove to participate as well. She reflects on the time she was out and about in town sans sunscreen. The memories come back in a rush.
Harvey puts it as: “The summer holidays are always frantic as you have to do all of your usual chores whilst keeping your children entertained. It is all too easy to end up in town and realise that you forgot to apply the sunscreen, which is why we want to offer it to people passing our branch. The bottles will be outside of our branches, so there is no obligation to even talk to us – although we do love it when people pop in to say hello.”
Caring lady funeral directors has two locations. It’s Hove location is set up at 38 Blatchington Road, while it’s Shoreham location is at 68 High Street. You can find free sunscreen being handed out from 22nd July until the stock lasts.
