Funded by Places Leisure (PL) and Mid Sussex District Council (MSDC), the Dolphin Leisure Centre in Haywards Health will have renovations and specific improvements on crucial areas completed latest by the end of the year.
The health centre has already undergone upgrading of its toilets on the ground floor, its studio, as well as to its wet changing area. They have also transformed the old bar area into an extra room for treatment.
The new improvements decided on including a Costa Coffee being added to the arena as well as a soft play sector put in at the existing cafe surroundings.
MSDC’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Service Delivery, Councillor John Belsey put it across as, “We are delighted to be able to fund these improvements to one of our best used leisure facilities, along with our partners Places Leisure. We believe these improvements will ensure that the Dolphin remains as popular and as frequented as ever. We are committed to ensuring that all of our leisure centres offer world class facilities that can be enjoyed by all sections of the Mid Sussex Community”.
There are several new improvements and additions included in the upgrade. They include converting the studio as it exists now into a brand new room for training, along with the old bar arena into an extra treatment room. Improvements are being made to the group cycle studio as well as to the cafe and reception area in order to include a soft play area and a Costa. Upgrading the ground floor toilets include replacing the tiles of the wet changing area.
Places Leisure Contract Manager, Tom Carter said, “These improvements will refresh and uplift the entire experience at The Dolphin. The inclusion of a Costa Coffee and a new soft play area will provide a relaxing space for people to enjoy following a workout or a swim”.
